Micro needling is a procedure for rejuvenating the skin, this is done by causing injury to the skin whereby the body responds by healing. The healing process stimulates the production of collagen amongst other goodies which brings results weeks to months beyond the initial treatment.
We prefer the pen device to rollers as it causes less trauma to the skin surface and overall is much kinder to the skin therefore the healing time is quicker.
This treatment requires a topical anaesthetic cream applied topically half an hour before the procedure. We also recommend you combine an Intraceuticals facial to aid healing and allow the active ingredients to absorb.

What is the procedure?
Topical anaesthesia will be applied to the area 15 minutes before treatment. Vitamin A serum will be applied to the skin and a pen like device with micro needles will be glided over the area multiple times.
After the treatment a healing peptide mask will be applied for 10 minutes. The mask helps to soothe the skin and reduce any redness, the peptides will start the regeneration process.
How long will the procedure last?
1 hour (this includes consultation and anaesthesia time)
Is it painful?
Uncomfortable but tolerable with topical anaesthesia.
What happens straight after treatment?
Your skin will appear bright red and inflamed. We suggest you do not apply make-up.
When will I see results?
Once the redness has settled, usually after 2-3 days, the skin starts to heal and the results start to appear as time goes on and improves up to a month after treatment.
Do I need to repeat this treatment?
Generally advisable and especially important if you have a lot of sun damage and acne scarring. We recommend a course of 3 to start. Depending on skin condition we recommend taking the course over a period of 6-8 weeks and this cycle repeated once a year.
What are the long-term benefits and results?
Increased collagen in the skin which gives the appearance of plumper and thicker skin. Due to the microneedling technique the serums applied are able to go deeper and able to stimulate anti-oxidant activity, repair and rejuvenation. This treatment does not induce skin sensitivity to UV light.
