Treatment
Arm Lift
Tone and tighten sagging upper arms
Overview
A brachioplasty (arm lift) removes excess skin and fat from the upper arms — the 'bat wings' that develop with age, weight loss, or genetics and cannot be corrected with exercise alone. The result is tighter, more toned-looking arms with improved contour from the underarm to the elbow.
How It Works
An incision is made along the inner or posterior upper arm, from the armpit to the elbow. Excess skin is removed, underlying tissue is tightened, and liposuction may be used to remove excess fat. The procedure takes 1–2 hours under general anesthesia. A mini arm lift with a shorter scar is available for patients with mild laxity limited to the upper arm.
What to Expect
Consultation includes assessment of skin laxity, fat distribution, and your goals. We discuss incision placement and whether a full or mini arm lift is appropriate. Surgery is performed at an accredited facility.
Recovery
Return to light activity within 1–2 weeks. Avoid heavy lifting for 4–6 weeks. A compression garment is worn for 4–6 weeks. Scars fade over 12–18 months and are positioned along the inner arm.
