Chin Surgery
Define your profile with precision chin contouring
Overview
Chin surgery (genioplasty or chin augmentation) reshapes and repositions the chin to improve facial balance and profile definition. A weak or recessed chin can make the nose appear larger and the neck less defined. Chin surgery — using implants or bone repositioning — creates a stronger, more harmonious facial profile.
How It Works
Chin augmentation uses a solid silicone implant placed through a small incision inside the mouth or under the chin. Sliding genioplasty involves cutting and repositioning the chin bone for more significant changes. Both are performed under general anesthesia or IV sedation and take 1–2 hours. Chin surgery is frequently combined with rhinoplasty for profile balancing.
What to Expect
Consultation includes facial proportion analysis and profile photography. We discuss implant options, sizing, and whether augmentation or genioplasty best suits your anatomy. Surgery is performed at an accredited facility.
Recovery
Return to light activity within 1 week. A soft diet is recommended for 1–2 weeks. Swelling resolves over 4–6 weeks. Final results are visible at 3 months.
