Neck Lift
Redefine your jawline and restore a youthful neck
Overview
A neck lift (lower rhytidectomy) addresses the sagging skin, excess fat, and muscle banding that create a 'turkey neck' appearance. By tightening the platysma muscle, removing excess skin, and contouring the submental area, a neck lift restores a clean, defined jawline and a smooth, youthful neck profile.
How It Works
Incisions are placed behind the ears and, if needed, under the chin. The platysma muscle is tightened and excess skin is removed. Liposuction may be used to remove submental fat. The procedure takes 2–3 hours under general anesthesia or IV sedation and is frequently combined with a facelift for comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
What to Expect
Consultation includes assessment of your neck anatomy, skin laxity, and fat distribution. We discuss whether a standalone neck lift or combination with a facelift best addresses your concerns. Surgery is performed at an accredited facility.
Recovery
Most patients return to light activity within 1–2 weeks. Swelling and bruising resolve over 2–3 weeks. A chin strap or compression garment is worn for the first week. Final results are visible at 3–6 months.
