Body Lift
Comprehensive body contouring after major weight loss
Overview
A lower body lift (belt lipectomy) addresses the circumferential loose skin and tissue that remains after significant weight loss — whether from bariatric surgery or lifestyle changes. By removing excess skin from the abdomen, hips, buttocks, and outer thighs in a single procedure, a body lift delivers dramatic, transformative body contouring results.
How It Works
An incision is made circumferentially around the lower body, typically at the bikini line. Excess skin and fat are removed from the abdomen, flanks, hips, buttocks, and outer thighs. The remaining tissue is lifted and tightened. The procedure takes 4–6 hours under general anesthesia and may require a short hospital stay.
What to Expect
Consultation includes a comprehensive assessment of your weight loss history, skin laxity, and goals. We discuss the full scope of the procedure, recovery requirements, and realistic expectations. Surgery is performed at an accredited facility and may require an overnight stay.
Recovery
Return to light activity within 3–4 weeks. Full activity resumes at 8–12 weeks. Compression garments are worn for 6–8 weeks. Swelling resolves over 6–12 months. Final results are visible at 6–12 months.
