Treatment
Tummy Tuck
A flatter, firmer abdomen — surgically sculpted
Overview
An abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen while tightening the underlying abdominal muscles — delivering a dramatically flatter, firmer midsection. It is particularly effective for patients who have experienced significant weight loss or pregnancy, which can leave behind loose skin and separated abdominal muscles that diet and exercise cannot correct.
How It Works
An incision is made low on the abdomen, within the bikini line, allowing the surgeon to remove excess skin and fat, repair separated rectus muscles (diastasis recti), and reposition the navel for a natural appearance. A mini tummy tuck is available for patients with concerns limited to the lower abdomen. The procedure takes 2–4 hours under general anesthesia.
What to Expect
Consultation includes a physical assessment of your abdominal skin laxity, muscle tone, and overall health. You will receive detailed pre-operative instructions including activity restrictions and medication guidelines. Surgery is performed at an accredited surgical facility. Drains may be placed to prevent fluid accumulation.
Recovery
Most patients return to light activity within 2–3 weeks and resume full activity at 6–8 weeks. Swelling gradually resolves over 3–6 months. A compression garment is worn for 6 weeks post-operatively to support healing and optimize contouring.
