Breast Lift
Restore youthful position and shape
Overview
A mastopexy (breast lift) raises and reshapes breasts that have sagged due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, or the natural aging process. By removing excess skin and repositioning the breast tissue and nipple to a more youthful height, a breast lift restores a firmer, perkier contour — without necessarily changing the size.
How It Works
The technique used depends on the degree of sagging. Common approaches include the periareolar (donut), vertical (lollipop), and anchor (inverted T) incision patterns. Excess skin is removed, breast tissue is reshaped and elevated, and the nipple-areola complex is repositioned. The procedure takes 2–3 hours under general anesthesia.
What to Expect
Consultation includes assessment of breast ptosis (sagging) grade, skin quality, and your aesthetic goals. If you desire both lift and volume, combining with implants or fat transfer is discussed. Surgery is performed at an accredited facility under general anesthesia.
Recovery
Return to light activity in 1–2 weeks. Avoid strenuous exercise for 4–6 weeks. A supportive surgical bra is worn throughout recovery. Scars fade over 12–18 months and are positioned to be concealed by most bras and swimwear.
