Overview
Awake Liposuction (tumescent liposuction under local anesthesia) is a minimally invasive body contouring procedure that removes stubborn fat deposits resistant to diet and exercise. Performed while you're awake using only local anesthesia, it offers a safer alternative to general anesthesia with faster recovery, less risk, and equally precise results.
How It Works
A tumescent solution (local anesthetic + epinephrine) is infused into the target area, numbing it completely and minimizing bleeding. Small incisions allow a thin cannula to break up and suction out fat cells. Because you're awake, you can reposition during treatment for more precise contouring. The procedure takes 1–3 hours depending on the area.
What to Expect
After a consultation to assess your target areas and goals, the procedure is performed in our accredited facility. You'll be comfortable and awake throughout. Most patients return home within hours and resume light activity within days.
Recovery
Compression garment worn for 4–6 weeks. Mild swelling and bruising for 2–4 weeks. Return to light activity in 3–5 days, full activity in 2–3 weeks. Final results visible at 3–6 months.
